● The Lithuanian government reported that, starting at midnight on July 18, passenger vehicles with license plates registered in Belarus will be prohibited from entering the country (with the exception that until August 16, persons holding a valid Lithuanian visa or temporary residence permit may enter the country in a vehicle for personal use (with the exception of the following).  At the same time, passenger vehicles with Belarusian license plates currently in Lithuania must leave the country by January 18, 2025. After this date, anyone driving a passenger car in Lithuania with Belarusian license plates will be considered an offender.
Prior to this, Latvia made a similar decision, banning entry into the country from midnight on July 16. Passenger cars with Belarusian license plates cannot be driven not only between Belarus and Latvia, but also on the border between Russia and Latvia.
