Following the recent assault and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, West Bengal, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) announced on August 16 that it will hold a nationwide protest strike from 6:00 AM on August 17 (Saturday) to 6:00 AM on August 18 (Sunday).
