On July 21, 2024, the police of Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, announced that they have taken into custody former representative of the SS Paul Watson, who entered Greenland by ship, based on an International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO) international arrangement issued at the request of Japan. Sea Shepherd France announced on its website that it will hold rallies in several French cities on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4 to demand the release of the former representative. In Strasbourg, a rally has been called for Saturday, August 3, from 14:00 to 17:00 at Place Kléber. It is expected that protests against Japan will expand in the future.
