On July 29, after a knife attack in Southport, Merseyside, England, in which several people, including three children, were killed or injured, an organization that appeared to be a far-right group, responding to unsubstantiated information posted on social media, turned violent by destroying local police and ambulance vehicles and throwing bricks at a mosque (July 30). Following the outbreak of violence on March 30, including the destruction of local police and ambulances and the throwing of bricks at a mosque, protests by such groups were held in several locations in Japan, including London (March 31), resulting in several police officers being injured and more than 100 arrests. There is a possibility that similar protests will continue to be held in other cities in the United Kingdom.

We therefore urge those living or staying in the UK to stay away from areas where such activities are taking place, to pay attention to their surroundings, and to ensure their own safety in order to avoid being caught in unforeseen circumstances. Please be aware that there is a possibility that information may be posted on social media that is not verified as authentic, so please make every effort to obtain accurate information by checking news reports and police announcements.
