1 A wildfire has been burning near Hanapepe, Kauai, Hawaii, since July 15. As of July 15, Kauai County officials have issued an emergency alert to residents of the Kaumakani area to evacuate due to the threat of the wildfire spreading.
2 As a result of the wildfire, a portion of the road from Lele Road in Hanapepe District to Aloha Sweet Delites in Kaumakani District is currently closed.
3 A shelter has been established at Waimea High School for residents of the Kaumakani area.
4 Power is out in Hanapepe and Kaumakani.
5 All residents who are on Kauai or plan to stay on Kauai are urged to stay alert to the latest information, including announcements by authorities, and to stay out of the wildfire areas.
