On Thursday, September 26, shortly after noon, a bank robbery took place at the Federal Savings Bank (Caixa Econômica Federal) branch in downtown Itaperuçu, located in the Greater Curitiba area of Paraná state. A group of five armed robbers entered the bank, threatened the branch manager, and stole cash from the ATM. They then took the branch manager and a security guard hostage before fleeing in a car. The hostages were released during the robbers’ escape, and no injuries were reported among the bank employees or customers present at the time.
