A 24-hour rail strike is set to take place from 12:00 AM on Thursday, September 26. According to reports, the Hellenic Train, Greece’s railway operating company, plans to strike in protest of the train collision incident that occurred in Thessaly in 2023.
If the strike proceeds, it is expected that rail services between Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as other major city routes and trains to Athens International Airport, will be suspended. Travelers planning to use these services should take note of this disruption.
