  • Extensive heavy rainfall has been ongoing in Slovakia for several days. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute has raised the flood alert level to the highest level 3 for the regions of Myjava, Skalica, Senica, and Malacky in western Slovakia, in response to rising water levels in the Morava and Danube rivers.
  • Continued heavy rainfall is expected through the weekend, and water levels in surrounding rivers are likely to remain high even after the rain stops. Vigilance is necessary.

For Japanese nationals and travelers, please take note of the following:

  • Pay close attention to flood alerts issued by Slovak authorities and evacuate early if necessary.
  • Avoid approaching swollen rivers and areas affected by flooding.
  • Do not drive through flooded roads.
  • Avoid using parking areas or underground storage near swollen rivers.
