Indonesia: Threats to Japanese, Chinese, and American Nationals, as well as the Interests of Japan, China, and the U.S. – Call for Attacks by Papuan Separatist Extremist Groups

• On August 29, the central command of the Papuan separatist extremist group, the “West Papua National Liberation Army – Free Papua Movement (TPNPB-OPM),” called on Papuans to attack targets related to the United States, China, Japan, and countries involved in illegal mining in Papua.
• In the Papua region (Papua Province, West Papua Province, South Papua Province, Central Papua Province, Highland Papua Province, and Southwest Papua Province), voices calling for independence remain. In particular, sporadic attacks by the TPNPB-OPM against security forces and companies have occurred in Central Papua Province (such as Mimika Regency and Puncak Jaya Regency) and Highland Papua Province (such as Nduga Regency).
