Incident Description: On April 8th, early in the morning, a new hijacking tactic was observed on the N4 near Solomon Mahlangu Drive, south of Pretoria. Perpetrators placed a mannequin on the road to simulate a person in distress, intending to lure vehicles into stopping. Once a vehicle stops, hijackers are likely to attack.

  1. Avoid Driving During Dark Hours:
    • Limit Night Driving: Avoid traveling during dark hours, including nighttime and early mornings, when visibility is poor and such tactics are more likely to be used.
