  • According to information from the Warsaw city authorities, approximately 30 anti-whaling and anti-dolphin hunting activists are scheduled to hold protests near the Japanese Embassy’s Public Information and Cultural Center and the Danish Embassy on Saturday, August 31.
    • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Japanese Embassy Public Information and Cultural Center (Al. Ujazdowskie 51)
    • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Danish Embassy (ul. Marszałkowska 142)
  • Every year, anti-dolphin hunting activists around the world hold protests on September 1, which marks the start of the dolphin hunting season in Taiji, Wakayama Prefecture, and is known as “Japan Dolphins Day.” Additionally, the former leader of the anti-whaling group “Sea Shepherd” is currently detained by local authorities in Greenland, a Danish territory. Given these circumstances, this year’s protests may be more active than usual.
  • Large gatherings and demonstrations can be unpredictable and may lead to unforeseen incidents. Residents and temporary visitors in Poland are advised to stay informed about these events and avoid approaching protest areas unnecessarily. Please exercise caution.
