On Sunday, October 13, at approximately 11:30 AM, two Japanese residents were surrounded by two young men, believed to be in their mid-teens, and had their backpacks stolen on a street about 200 meters from the Ascensor Cordillera in Valparaíso. The following day, Monday, October 14, at around 7:50 PM, a foreign couple was robbed of their mobile phone by a pair posing as a couple near the Hill of Concepción, about 900 meters from where the first incident occurred. The couple was threatened with a knife when they resisted.
