1.According to the National Hurricane Center, as of the 6th, Tropical Storm Debby is moving north along the southeastern coast of the United States near South Carolina. It is expected to pass through West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut (Fairfield County) between the 9th and 10th in our jurisdiction area.
2.Reports indicate that severe flooding, large-scale power outages, and other damage have already affected Florida and Georgia, with fatalities confirmed, creating a serious situation. If the storm reaches our jurisdiction area while maintaining its strength, there is a risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides, building inundation, and power outages due to heavy rain, strong winds, and gusts. Caution is strongly advised.
3.Japanese nationals in the area should stay updated with the latest weather information through news and take appropriate safety measures early. If you receive information about Japanese citizens being affected by the hurricane, please notify the Consulate General.
