The Federation of Bolivian Drivers’ Associations plans to implement 24-hour road closures in various locations in Bolivia beginning at 00:00 a.m. on August 1 as a protest against the government’s diesel supply shortage.
We have received information that the Bolivian Drivers Association has already blocked the main highway connecting La Paz City with Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and Sucre for an indefinite period of time starting today (July 31).
We ask everyone to stay informed of relevant information and to stay away from roadblocks and areas where large numbers of people are gathered to avoid being caught in unforeseen circumstances.
A notice to members of La Confederacion de Choferes de Bolivia (Bolivian Federation of Drivers’ Associations) called for 24-hour road closures in major cities in Bolivia, starting at 00:00 am on August 1.
We have been informed that the Bolivian Driver’s Association (Transporte Pesado) has already closed the main arterial road between La Paz City and Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and Sucre for an indefinite period of time starting today (July 31).
