At around 7:30 PM on Wednesday, February 19, a robbery targeting a Japanese man occurred on a city bus. The victim was traveling on bus number 474 from the Copacabana district toward the Centro district when approximately 30 young individuals boarded the bus. Shortly after, the group assaulted the victim by strangling him and striking his face before robbing him of all his belongings.
• Theft and robbery incidents frequently occur on buses in the area, especially in the evening and nighttime hours on buses traveling from Copacabana to Centro. It is strongly recommended to use safer transportation options such as taxis.
