3. Summary of the Incident
After arriving at the terminal by long-distance bus, the Japanese victim requested a ride via a mobile app. The driver passed the designated pickup location, so the victim checked the vehicle’s location in front of a nearby police station and called the driver. Upon being informed by the driver that stopping there was not possible, the victim proceeded to the aforementioned intersection as directed. While checking the location on their smartphone again, two boys on bicycles suddenly approached and snatched the phone before fleeing. No injuries were reported.
