● On Thursday, November 4, around 8:15 PM, a robbery occurred involving a Japanese national on the street in Makati City, Metro Manila, where a firearm-like object was used.
● The victim, a Japanese national, was approached by one of the three assailants when they stepped out of their vehicle on Paseo de Roxas Street in the San Lorenzo district, about 100 meters north of Greenbelt Mall. The assailant suddenly pointed what appeared to be a gun at the victim’s head, and the victim handed over their bag and mobile phone. The assailants then fled on two motorcycles.
● As previously highlighted in repeated advisories, crime tends to increase during the Christmas season. We urge Japanese nationals residing in or visiting the Philippines, as well as business travelers, to remain highly vigilant and aware of their surroundings.
● In the event of a robbery, prioritize your safety and do not resist.
