Today, November 18, large-scale demonstrations under the slogan “BLOODY MONDAY” are reportedly planned across Uganda.
Since the specific locations of the demonstrations have not been disclosed, there is a possibility of sudden checkpoints or unrest occurring throughout the country. Please exercise caution when going out.
Residents are advised to carry their passports at all times in case they encounter checkpoints.
If you are detained, do not hesitate to contact the Consular Section of the Embassy of Japan in Uganda immediately (0752-734-469) before your mobile phone is confiscated.
