Mexico: Advisory on Tropical Depression “Sara”

According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression Sara is located in the Caribbean Sea as of 9:00 AM on November 14, moving westward at 15 km/h. The central pressure is 1005 hPa, and the maximum wind speed is 25 knots (13 m/s).

Sara is expected to continue developing while moving west, and it is projected to approach Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, and Mexico as a tropical storm between 6:00 PM on November 15 and 6:00 PM on November 18. Caution is advised for heavy rain, strong winds, storm surges, and high waves.

Please take the following precautions before landfall or approach:

  2. Prepare for possible power outages by securing flashlights, lighters, candles, portable radios, spare batteries, and essential supplies such as drinking water, food, and gasoline.
