On Friday, November 15, the “Loi Krathong Festival,” celebrated on the full moon, will be held throughout Thailand. To avoid unexpected incidents, such as accidents or other emergencies, residents and visitors from Japan are advised to stay informed with the latest updates and follow the precautions outlined below:
(1) Exercise caution, particularly around tourist sites, event venues, restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, public transportation hubs, and religious sites, as these areas attract large crowds and could potentially be targets for terrorist activities.
(2) Keep up to date with security information through local media, “Tabiregister” (TABI-REJI), and the Overseas Safety website. Take appropriate and sufficient safety precautions based on the situation.
According to online information, there were reports suggesting the possibility of a targeted terrorist attack against Israeli nationals at the Full Moon Party scheduled on Pha Ngan Island (commonly known as Phangan Island) in southern Thailand on Friday, November 15. Subsequently, the Thai police confirmed that this information was inaccurate and announced that security measures will be strengthened. However, please continue to stay vigilant as mentioned in point 1 above.
