Guam: Advisory on Approaching Tropical Depression (COR1 Alert and Temporary Closure of Consulate General) (Update No. 3)

  • Due to the approach of Tropical Depression 25W (International Name: MAN-YI), the Guam government issued a Condition of Readiness (COR) 1 alert, the highest level, at 12:00 AM on the 13th. During COR1, going outdoors is prohibited. Guam is expected to enter the area of strong winds within 12 hours after COR1 is issued.
  • Japanese residents and visitors are urged to prioritize their safety, remain indoors in a secure location, and continue monitoring the latest weather and warning updates.
  • As of 7:00 AM, the Consulate-General of Japan in Hagåtña will remain temporarily closed throughout November 13 (Wednesday) due to the strong winds making it difficult for staff to commute. The consulate will stay closed until the alert level is lowered and conditions are safe. Notifications on reopening will be sent via consular emails. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
  • Alert Levels:
    • COR1: Expected to enter the area of strong winds within 12 hours (Stay indoors)
    • COR2: Expected to enter the area of strong winds within 24 hours (Close window shutters, secure drinking water and food, prepare to shelter)
    • COR3: Expected to enter the area of strong winds within 48 hours (Secure gasoline and essential supplies)
    • COR4: Normal conditions
