Presidential candidate Venancio Mondlane has called on the public to join a fourth round of protest actions with nationwide demonstrations planned from Wednesday, November 13, to Friday, November 15. According to Mondlane’s statement, this round of protests will be divided into multiple phases, with the first phase outlined below (further phases will be announced later):
- Dates: Wednesday, November 13 – Friday, November 15
- Locations:
- Capital cities of Mozambique’s 11 provinces (including Maputo)
- National borders
- Various ports within Mozambique
Previous protests have seen violent clashes between police and demonstrators, with the use of tear gas to disperse crowds, resulting in fatalities. Similar situations could arise during this round of protests. We advise avoiding non-essential outings during this period. If you encounter a protest, leave the area immediately to ensure your safety. Stay informed of any updates and take appropriate safety measures.
