Philippines: Advisory on Typhoon 23 “Trases”

● Typhoon 23 “Trases” (locally named “Nika”) has formed over the sea east of the Philippines. The typhoon is currently moving westward over the waters east of Luzon and is expected to make landfall in northern Luzon later today, November 11 (Monday).

● Strong winds and heavy rainfall are likely across a wide area of Luzon Island, increasing the potential for damage. Please stay updated on the latest weather information and take appropriate safety precautions if you plan to travel to or stay in affected areas.

1.According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon 23 (internationally named “Trases,” locally called “Nika”) has formed over the sea east of the Philippines. The typhoon is currently located around 100 km east of Aurora Province in Luzon, moving westward, with expected landfall in northern Luzon later today, November 11.

2.Due to the typhoon, strong winds and heavy rains are expected over northern Luzon and surrounding areas, with potential risks for both personal safety and property damage. PAGASA has issued Signal 4 warnings for certain parts of northern Luzon. Disruptions to transportation, including air travel, may occur.
