3. Summary of Incident
A 49-year-old man was shot and killed on Travessa Amazonas in the Nossa Senhora das Graças neighborhood of Manaus. According to security authorities, around 6 a.m., the victim left his home on a motorcycle to go to work when he was shot multiple times by two men on another motorcycle. The motorcycle that the victim was riding was left at the scene (without being stolen), suggesting that robbery is unlikely.

4. Requests from the Consulate General
(1) If you hear gunshots nearby, immediately “take cover” (standing increases the area exposed to gunfire, raising the risk of being hit). Look for a chance to safely evacuate.
(2) If you hear gunshots in the distance or can move, “run” away from the area. Stay calm and seek a safe location.
(3) If you cannot “run,” “hide.” Take cover behind obstacles in your path to ensure your safety.
(4) If you encounter a robbery or similar situation, “never resist,” “do not look at the assailant,” and “comply with their demands” (but do so with slow movements to avoid provoking them).
(5) Please refrain from walking outside, especially at night and early in the morning, as the likelihood of various crimes increases significantly.
