1. The Peruvian government has notified in the official gazette that the state of emergency, initially declared for security purposes in certain areas of the Madre de Dios region, has been extended for 60 days starting from Saturday, September 28.

• Madre de Dios and Huepetue towns in Manu Province

2. During this period, the state of emergency will impose restrictions on constitutional rights, including the inviolability of the home, freedom of movement, assembly, and personal liberty. Security authorities may inspect personal belongings and search vehicles without a warrant at checkpoints. Travelers planning to visit or stay in the affected areas are advised to always carry identification when going out.
3. The Japanese government has issued the following travel advisories for different regions in Peru:
• Level 1: Exercise caution.
• Level 2: Avoid non-essential travel.
• Level 3: Refrain from all travel.
