China: Advisory Regarding Martyrs’ Day Commemoration

September 30 (Monday) is Martyrs’ Day, a day to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country in China. As of now, no specific protest activities have been confirmed; however, related events were held last year in the area, and similar events may take place this year.
If you plan to go out on September 30 (Monday), please pay attention to the following points:
- (1) Obtain the latest security information and make an effort to confirm the safety of your destination. While out, be mindful not to speak loudly and remain vigilant of your surroundings.
- (2) Stay aware of your surroundings, including any suspicious individuals approaching you. If you are out with children, take extra precautions to ensure their safety by going out in groups.
- (3) If you encounter any protest activities, do not approach them recklessly. Avoid taking photos with your smartphone or posting about it on personal social media without caution.
- (4) Be prepared in case the police request identification by carrying your Hong Kong ID or other identification while out.
- (5) Do not approach suspicious objects or items whose owners are not clearly identified.
