We’ve reviewed our travel advice for the United Kingdom and continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution due to the threat of terrorism. The UK is introducing an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme in January 2025. From 8 January 2025, Australians visiting the UK, who do not need a visa for short stays or who do not have any other UK immigration status will need an ETA to travel to or transit through the UK.
