Event: Authorities in Martinique imposed a curfew on Wednesday, September 18, due to ongoing unrest that has included looting, street demonstrations and roadblocks. According to a Martinique Prefecture press release, the curfew will restrict movement in Fort-de-France and Lamentin between 21:00 and 05:00. The curfew will be in effect until Monday, September 23.
The press release indicates the curfew does not apply to those working for public services, assistance to people in need of care, supply to shops or for travel related to a justified professional activity. Violationis punishable by a fine.
