● Early this morning on the 17th (exact time unknown), a terrorist group attacked two locations: the Mali National Gendarmerie School in Faladje (Faladei), Bamako, and nearby facilities.
● According to the Mali National Army, the terrorists were repelled by security forces, and security in the capital Bamako has been restored. Information is circulating on social media that two suspects have been arrested.
● The attacked Mali National Gendarmerie School is located approximately 9 km from Bamako International Airport. The road leading to the airport was temporarily closed by Mali security forces but now appears to have reopened.
● Although there are no confirmed reports of the airport being closed, Ethiopian Airlines flights to and from Bamako have experienced delays. Turkish Airlines has no flights to or from Bamako today, but flights are expected to operate as usual starting tomorrow.

We urge you to avoid any non-essential outings. For the time being, roadblocks and checkpoints may be increased throughout Bamako. If you must go out, please take utmost caution, avoid traveling alone, and ensure your personal safety.
Please also avoid government-related facilities that may be targeted by terrorists (military, police, and security installations), as well as places where foreigners, especially Westerners, tend to gather, such as hotels, restaurants, bars, resorts, supermarkets, and religious establishments (including mosques).
