THE UNITED STATES MISSION IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (PRC) IS TRANSMITTING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVING IN AND/OR TRAVELING IN CHINA. PLEASE DISSEMINATE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL U.S. CITIZENS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION OR NEIGHBORHOOD.
Location: Eastern China: Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang provinces and Shanghai
Event: The China Meteorological Administration issued a warning for Typhoon Bebinca for Eastern China. Typhoon Bebinca is expected to make landfall along the Zhejiang coast in the early morning hours of September 16.
Damaging winds, heavy rains, potential flooding, and mudslides in coastal areas and inland are expected in Eastern China, with severe weather forecasted from September 15 to September 16.
Actions to Take:
- Do not travel to the storm areas.
- Monitor the local news for updates.
- Check your emergency kit to ensure you have needed medicines and other supplies.
- Seek secure shelter.
- Protect your important documents including your passport.
- Visit the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and Tropical Storm Risk (TSR) for updated storm tracking information.
- Keep your family at home informed about your safety and welfare.
