We have received multiple reports from travelers experiencing issues with car rentals, such as being billed for damage to a vehicle they do not recall causing, being charged $1,000 for repairs, not receiving a deposit refund, and finding double charges on their credit card statements.
To avoid such troubles, please ensure the following when renting a car:
Carefully review and understand the rental agreement (contract terms) before signing.
Inspect the vehicle thoroughly before and after use, including the interior, exterior, undercarriage, tires, and odometer, and take photos/videos with the staff present.
Confirm the breakdown of charges accurately.
Make payments with your card in person.
We cannot comment on the advertisements or pricing of rental car companies, but we strongly recommend using a reputable rental car company and not being swayed by terms like “lowest price,” “cheap,” or “DISCOUNT.” Check reviews and ensure the company has a high level of reliability.
