Every year, during the days surrounding September 11 (the anniversary of the 1973 military coup), demonstrations are held by students, leftist groups, and others, which sometimes escalate into large-scale riots. Last year, between the nights of September 10 and 11, disturbances, looting, and damage occurred across Chile. Over 100 people were arrested in various areas, including the Santiago Metropolitan Region, due to acts of violence.

Around September 11, some areas may become dangerous, so please make an effort to gather information from news reports and other sources before going out to avoid getting caught up in dangerous situations.

If you encounter demonstrations or protests, do your best to stay away from them, be aware of potential disruptions to transportation networks, and be cautious to avoid getting caught up in any unforeseen incidents. If you are in a situation where you must go near a protest site, exercise extreme caution and try to leave the area as quickly as possible to avoid becoming involved.
