1. High temperatures and dry conditions have led to forest fires across a wide area in Ecuador.
2. According to reports, on September 4th, 12 forest fires occurred in eight provinces (Azuay, Cotopaxi, Loja, Pichincha, Imbabura, Chimborazo, Carchi, and Imbabura), and some areas are still undergoing firefighting efforts.
3. The Ministry of Environment has called for the avoidance of activities that could start forest fires, such as discarding cigarette butts, littering, and using machinery in the mountains.
4. Once a fire starts, it can spread rapidly due to wind. Residents and travelers should stay informed about weather conditions and take necessary precautions by moving away from the fire and avoiding areas downwind.
