2. According to reports, on September 4th, 12 forest fires occurred in eight provinces (Azuay, Cotopaxi, Loja, Pichincha, Imbabura, Chimborazo, Carchi, and Imbabura), and some areas are still undergoing firefighting efforts.
3. The Ministry of Environment has called for the avoidance of activities that could start forest fires, such as discarding cigarette butts, littering, and using machinery in the mountains.
