On the evening of the 17th, around 8:00 PM local time, a major eruption occurred on Mount Ruang, located on Luang Island in North Sulawesi. The eruption sent plumes of ash reaching an altitude of 19,000 meters, and reports indicate that several hundred island residents have evacuated.
Japanese nationals are advised to stay updated with the latest information and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety, as there is a risk of further eruptions, earthquakes, and tsunamis.
