On Sunday, July 21, 2024, the police in Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, announced that they had detained former SS leader Paul Watson, who had entered Greenland by ship, based on an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol at Japan’s request. In response to this situation, rallies calling for Watson’s release have been held in various cities across France, organized by Sea Shepherd (SS) France and its branches. Additionally, Sea Shepherd (SS) France and its branches have announced on social media that similar rallies will be held in several cities across France from Saturday, August 31, to Wednesday, September 4.
