Health Notice – Dengue Prevention (August 29, 2024)
The rainy season brings a rise in the number of dengue cases in Vietnam. Dengue is prevalent in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other parts of Vietnam, and is a viral infection spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is common throughout southeast Asia. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Travel Health Notice about dengue: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/level1/dengue-global .
The CDC Travel Health Notice includes additional details about dengue – preventative measures, symptoms of dengue viral infection, and treatment options.
