1. As previously communicated through multiple consular emails and on our embassy’s website, Pope Francis is scheduled to stay in Timor-Leste from September 9th to September 11th.

2. During this period and the days surrounding it, a large number of people are expected to flow into and stay in Dili, exceeding the city’s usual capacity. It is anticipated that there will be travel restrictions by air and land, entry regulations, comprehensive traffic restrictions in Dili, shortages of accommodations and transportation, shortages of supplies such as food, crowded conditions, and potential communication disruptions due to overburdened networks. These factors will likely make it difficult to conduct normal social activities.

3. For those considering visiting or who are already residing in Timor-Leste, please be aware that it may be significantly difficult to visit or stay during this period due to the aforementioned impacts. We encourage you to carefully consider your future plans. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
