September 1st is known as “Japan Dolphins Day,” during which anti-dolphin hunting activists around the world typically hold protests. In the past, protests have taken place at our embassy, and this year, protests by environmental groups are expected to intensify, particularly due to the recent arrest of Paul Watson, the former leader of the anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd. In fact, protests demanding the release of Paul Watson have already been conducted by environmental groups at our embassy.

While there is currently no information regarding protests related to Japan Dolphins Day at our embassy, we urge those planning to visit or be in the vicinity of the embassy around September 1st (Please note the embassy will be closed on that day as it is a Sunday) to stay alert to their surroundings and take precautions to avoid any unforeseen incidents.
