USA: The Democratic National

Convention will be held from August 19 (Monday) to 22 (Thursday) in Chicago, Illinois. During this period, there may be protests and other activities in and around the city and the venue.

Please exercise caution and avoid getting caught up in any unforeseen situations if you encounter protests or other disturbances.

In response to the event, the consulate building will have a parking management policy from August 19 (Monday) to 23 (Friday). Although the parking lot entrance will display a “Full” sign as a measure to deter unauthorized entry, visitors to the building will still be able to use the parking facilities.

1. The Democratic National Convention will take place from August 19 (Monday) to 22 (Thursday) at the United Center and McCormick Place, among other locations in Chicago. There is a possibility of protests and other activities occurring within the city and around the venues during these dates and surrounding days.
2. For Japanese residents and travelers, please remain vigilant to avoid getting involved in any unforeseen situations if you encounter protests. Be cautious of your surroundings while moving through the area. If protests escalate or clash with law enforcement, prioritize your safety by leaving the area immediately.
