Philippines: Mindanao Island, Earthquake Alert (August 3)

An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 on the Richter scale has occurred northeast of Linggu, South Surigao, Mindanao. There is no information of a tsunami at this time, but aftershocks are expected, so please pay attention to information from local authorities and take appropriate measures.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), a magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred at 67 km northeast of Linggu, South Surigao, Mindanao (epicenter depth of 10 km) at 8.11°N, 127.02°E on August 3, at 6:23 am. There is no information of a tsunami at this time, but aftershocks are expected, so please pay attention to information from local authorities and take appropriate measures.
