According to the Indonesian Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, the activity level of Mount Marapi near Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, has intensified. As a result, the eruption alert level was raised to Level III (Alert) on November 6.
Authorities have imposed restrictions on access within 4.5 kilometers of the summit. Additionally, nearby residents are urged to take precautions such as avoiding flood-prone areas during rainfall and wearing masks during ashfall.
