Security conditions have significantly deteriorated as outlined below. When traveling or staying for business, avoid areas with little foot traffic, remain in central urban areas, and limit your activities after sunset as much as possible. Additionally, avoid locations where conflicts may occur, and if you witness any, prioritize your safety by leaving the area immediately.
1. Ongoing territorial disputes due to internal conflicts within the drug trafficking organization known as the “Sinaloa Cartel.”
2. On August 3 and August 29 of this year, intense gunfights occurred in Culiacán between the military and armed groups believed to be members of the cartel, resulting in multiple fatalities.
3. Since September 8, numerous clashes between armed groups, believed to be members of the cartel, have occurred throughout Sinaloa, leading to many deaths.
4. On September 29, the body of a man, the brother of the former mayor of Elota and a representative of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), was found in the rural area of Alta Rosa.
