As widely reported in local media, large-scale tribal conflicts have erupted in the Porgera District of Enga Province. In response, the PNG government has declared a two-month state of emergency covering the Porgera-Paiela, Kompiam-Ambum, and Wapenamanda districts. Along with this declaration, a nighttime curfew from 6 PM to 8 AM has been enforced. Emergency measures have also been introduced, including road blockades, stricter control of illegal firearms, improvements to correctional facilities, and a ban on alcohol.

For those planning to travel to the affected areas, we strongly advise postponing your trip until the situation stabilizes.
