On the night of September 19 (Thursday), a police vehicle mistakenly entered a favela in the Bras de Pina area of northern Rio de Janeiro and came under gunfire, resulting in injuries to the officer. On September 18 (Wednesday), a family traveling from Minas Gerais also accidentally entered a favela and was shot at.

Mobile phone map applications may select routes without considering dangerous areas such as favelas, so please ensure to check your route thoroughly before traveling to unfamiliar places.
If you accidentally enter a favela, avoid panicking or making sudden movements. Instead, slow down and evacuate the area cautiously.
