Main Preventive Measures:

Indoors:

  • Use fans or air conditioning to regulate temperature.
  • Utilize curtains, blinds, or sprinkling water to block sunlight.
  • Regularly check indoor temperature.
  • Consider the Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) index for additional guidance.

Outdoors:

  • Wear hats or use umbrellas for sun protection.
  • Seek shade and take frequent breaks.
  • Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

To Avoid Heat Accumulation:

  • Wear breathable, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying clothing.
  • Use cooling packs, ice, or cold towels to lower body temperature.

Frequent Hydration:

  • Regularly drink fluids and electrolytes, even if you do not feel thirsty, both indoors and outdoors. Sports drinks can also be beneficial.
