In response to the results of the Venezuelan presidential election held on July 28, both the ruling and opposition parties are calling for rallies and marches across the country on Wednesday, August 28, marking one month since the election.
According to reports, the planned rallies and marches in Caracas are as follows
(1) Opposition Side: A rally will be held at 11:00 AM in front of Centro Comercial Lido on Francisco de Miranda Avenue.
(2) Ruling Party Side: Specific dates and locations have not yet been confirmed.
During protests held immediately after the election, clashes between security forces and demonstrators resulted in casualties in some areas. While no major clashes have been reported since then, there is a possibility that even peaceful gatherings could suddenly escalate, leading to crowd violence or clashes with security forces.
To avoid being caught up in unforeseen situations, please stay informed through news reports and take the following safety precautions to ensure your security
(1) Avoid areas where rallies or marches are taking place. If you encounter such gatherings, leave the area immediately.
(2) As road closures and traffic jams may occur due to rallies and marches, allow extra time for travel when going out and stay vigilant and cautious of your surroundings.
