Key Points

On August 15 (Thursday), Poland’s Military Memorial Day parade is scheduled to take place in the center of Warsaw, with a rehearsal planned for August 11 (Sunday). Consequently, there will be significant traffic restrictions on August 10 (Saturday), 11 (Sunday), 14 (Wednesday), and 15 (Thursday) during certain hours.

On August 15 (Thursday) at 14:00, a parade featuring the Polish military will be held along the Wislostrada road on the west bank of the Vistula River in central Warsaw. The parade will include over 200 pieces of equipment and approximately 2,500 soldiers. A rehearsal for the parade will be conducted on the morning of August 11 (Sunday).

Due to this, major traffic restrictions will be implemented, affecting a section of Wislostrada (from Maria Sklodowska-Curie Bridge to Jurija Gagarina Street) and some nearby bridges and roads during the following times:

  • August 10 (Saturday) 16:00 to August 11 (Sunday) 11:00
  • August 14 (Wednesday) 18:00 to August 15 (Thursday) 18:00

Additionally, due to the traffic restrictions, some bus and tram routes will be altered. Furthermore, a ceremony will be held at the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” at noon on the day of the parade, which may lead to traffic congestion and delays even outside the parade area. Details about the traffic restrictions can be found on the Warsaw City Authority’s website (in Polish) at: Warsaw City Authority Traffic Restrictions

Therefore, if you plan to be in the vicinity of the parade or anywhere in Warsaw during the specified periods, please be aware of the traffic restrictions and potential delays.
