According to the National Hurricane Center’s forecast as of 5 p.m. on the 2nd, a low-pressure system currently in the Caribbean Sea is expected to gain strength and become a tropical storm (maximum wind speed of 39 to 73 mph) moving northward over the southeastern coastal areas of the United States.
If it maintains its current forecast track and speed, it is expected to pass over the coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina from Monday, March 5 to Wednesday, March 7.
