1 On July 27, amid the ongoing exchange of attacks between Israel and Hezbollah, a Lebanese armed group, in the northern border region of Israel, there was an attack on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights, which is effectively controlled by Israel, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. In response, the Israeli Security Cabinet meeting held on July 28 authorized Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Galant to decide how to respond to Hezbollah, and the situation may become even more tense in the future.
