The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has issued a warning to residents in the following areas (including parts of Samut Prakan Province) after detecting cases of rabies in animals. The BMA advises avoiding contact with wild animals and, in case of bites or contact with animals suspected of carrying rabies, immediately washing the wound and consulting a doctor for a rabies vaccination.
Rabies can infect all mammals, including humans, and there is also a risk of transmission from pets. Residents in the affected areas and nearby are urged to follow the BMA’s guidance and exercise caution.
Affected Areas:
- Saphan Sung Subdistrict, Saphan Sung District, Bangkok
- Dokmai Subdistrict, Prawet District, Bangkok
- Phatthanakan Subdistrict, Suan Luang District, Bangkok
- Racha Thewa Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province
